Bandhan Bank’s Q1 profit up 35% on lower provisions, asset quality improves
Bandhan Bank on Tuesday posted a 35% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹502 crore for the April–June quarter of FY27 (Q1FY27), supported by lower provisioning. However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, profit declined by 6.1%.
The bank’s net interest income (NII) grew 6% YoY to ₹2,921 crore during the quarter, even as loan growth remained strong. In contrast, non-interest income dropped by around 17% YoY to ₹600 crore.
Net interest margin (NIM), which indicates a bank’s profitability, improved slightly by 2 basis points sequentially to 6.2%, but declined by 16 basis points compared to the same period last year.
