Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has resumed paying dividends after a gap of 12 years, showing a strong turnaround in its financial health. The bank had earlier faced high bad loans, with net NPA peaking at 7.41%, which led the RBI to place it under the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework. However, with improved asset quality, better profits, and stronger capital position, IOB has successfully recovered and is now rewarding its shareholders again.
